We deeply thank you and are grateful for all that you are and all that you did, with such an incredible capacity to give and share; generously helping, supporting, touching and caring for so many people and organisations. The meaning of Joan is "God's Gift" and we were blessed and honoured to have had you with us in our lives…
Your extraordinary legacy lives on. 

We love you dearly. Your husband Neophytos, your daughters Irene, Thalia, Catherine, Sonja, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the whole family.

In loving memory of our dearest Yiannoula (Joan) Stavrou, we'd like to take the opportunity to make a real difference to families of seriously sick and injured children at Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney (Westmead) and Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney (Randwick)

To my beautiful Mother Yiannoula, it’s an honour to be your daughter, a privilege to call you Mum and have you as my best friend; and there will always be a huge sense of gratitude for your exceptional loving, courageous and positive impact in my life, for all your support, belief and encouragement, and for your most beautiful tenderness. Thank you Mum, for showing me what real love looks like, what courage, bravery, forgiveness, trust and loyalty looks like, and for also showing me what friendship, creativity, acceptance and faith looks like. I deeply thank you for the courage, bravery, generosity and determination that you have shown every day of your life Mum. I am proud of you beyond measure and so very proud to call you Mum; you inspire me daily. I don’t yet understand that I can’t hold and hug you anymore, but I will always hold on to your inspiring, beautiful, powerful and vast legacy.
